Homologating a non-EU car in Poland

Świadectwo indywidualnego dopuszczenia pojazdu

A vehicle imported from outside the EU that doesn't hold a type approval certificate needs a świadectwo indywidualnego dopuszczenia pojazdu (individual admission certificate). An accredited technical service inspects and tests the vehicle first, and the TDT director issues the certificate based on that service's report.

Who actually inspects the vehicle, the TDT or someone else?

The physical inspection and testing is done by an accredited jednostka techniczna (technical service), not the TDT directly. The TDT director issues the certificate based on that service's report, so choosing a competent technical service upfront matters.

What changed with the 2023 homologation law?

Poland's system for vehicle and equipment homologation is governed by the Act of 14 April 2023 on vehicle homologation systems, which restructured how individual admission is processed. We stay current on the applicable rules as part of the process.
