A vehicle imported into Croatia from outside the EU needs its individual compliance established (utvrđivanje sukladnosti pojedinačnog vozila) by CVH or HAK, using a network of over 140 authorized inspection sites at technical-inspection stations across the country, before it can be registered.
The process, step by step
- 1Documentation review
The vehicle's foreign registration papers (for used vehicles), technical data, and Certificate of Conformity or manufacturer's proof of compliance (for new vehicles) are gathered.
- 2Application
The application, with supporting documents, is filed with an authorized CVH or HAK inspection site.
- 3Documentation and vehicle inspection
The authorized body examines both the paperwork and the vehicle itself at one of the network's inspection sites.
- 4Modifications, if flagged
Any non-compliant points are corrected and the vehicle is re-presented.
- 5Compliance certificate issued
Once approved, CVH or HAK issues the confirmation of compliance needed for registration.
