A vehicle imported from outside the EU without EU type approval needs Denmark's national individuel godkendelse: an approved inspection company (synsvirksomhed) examines the vehicle, and Færdselsstyrelsen oversees the application, before the original foreign registration certificate can be handed to Motorstyrelsen for registration.

Any non-compliant points are corrected and the vehicle is re-presented.
- 5Registration with Motorstyrelsen
Once approved, the original foreign registration certificate is submitted and the vehicle is registered and plated.
